    At times, after a long day, the first thing you’d do is sink yourself on the sofa and hide from the stress and boisterous experience of the day. While running through your to-do list for the day and checking on the tasks, you’ve ticked done. The feeling of accomplishment or worry and anxiety fills your heart after assessing your progress for the day. Sometimes, you feel you have just wasted over 20 hours of the day thinking that you’ve been working as most of the tasks are unchecked.

    It’s not that you didn’t want to do them, but several things which were not part of your plans for the day just kept on popping in, trying to get your attention.

    Imagine a friend or neighbor, popping into your home unannounced. Probably, because she needed to share with someone the challenges she’s been going through. As your brother or sister’s keeper, you’d want to give a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. You have done nothing bad. But yet, you felt guilty to yourself after she’d left. This is because she wasn’t on your schedule for the day and a part of your time was stolen.

    Sometimes, it seems there is just not enough time to accomplish the things running through our minds or on the schedule. The 24 hours a day just seems not to be enough.

    This feeling of dissatisfaction and un-fulfillment creates worry, fear, doubt, anxiety, and depression in your heart. It generates negative energies so much that you find it difficult to engage yourself in other productive activities for the day.

    Loneliness is a feeling of emptiness, being alone, unloved or neglect. Its an emotional expression that we all feel one time or the other at a point in our lives. Especially now, when the entire world is in panic and confusion. We are kept away from our loved ones, daily economic, social and recreational activities, to stay at home.

Try some of these skills like painting, drawing, baking, playing the guitar you kept in the closet all this while, etc. This is a good time to learn new skills. Learning is fun.

    You should do just anything you can lay your hands on around the house to make yourself happy.

    Do you love writing? You can create a website and start blogging about things that make you happy. Don’t worry if you are not a professional writer, moreover, you can do it for fun. Let people know what’s on your mind and the enjoyable experience you have had through your writing. You will later find out you are helping someone somewhere who will read your blog posts.

    4. Crafting.

    If you have your kids staying at home with you, you can engage in some crafting activities with them. Children love crafting, and they love it more when they do it with their parents. Create some fun time doing craft with your kids. You should use materials within your reach like paper, leaves, paints, old newspapers, cardboard, empty cans, etc.

    5. Practice meditation.

    Meditation is one of the known and proven means of healing both the body and soul. You can overcome loneliness through practicing meditation. Keep your worries away, drive the negative thoughts out, and feed your mind on only the positive ones. Then, think about the good things that had happened recently, the lovely people you’ve met, think about love and family. Meditation will also help you discover who you truly are and how you can improve your life.

    6. Embrace self-love.

    No one can love you more than you love yourself. Although, loneliness is a result of the feelings of neglect, however, loving yourself is a key to happiness even when there is no shoulder for you to lean on. Loving yourself will help you stay happy no matter what. When you are happy, you will love others and even have a positive effect on them. Don’t hate yourself for any reason and don’t accept negative vibes. Love who you are and don’t be anyone talk you down about yourself.

    This could sound weird. But I think getting involved in activities like cultivating the garden can be healing. Appreciating the works of nature is one of the keys to overcome loneliness. Getting to know the natural environment around your house can be a great idea. Get the flowers trimmed, water the nursery, observe the beautiful blue sky, and listen to the birds sing. You can also plant some veggies if you have the seeds at home or within your reach.

    If you have a pool at the backyard, whether natural or artificial pool, you can try out some swimming exercise. It will help to rejuvenate both your body and spirit. swimming will bring back to you the sense of refreshment and you’ll see loneliness fly away like a bird.

    Our present life pattern and happenings are results of our choices and decisions of the past. However, you can overcome your past failures when you are ready to start living the future of your dream.

    Sometimes, we all have been in a situation where we are to make a decision to choose, act, speak or do something. However, instead of doing it right, we made mistakes by making the wrong choices, acting negatively or saying the wrong words.

    Our wrong decisions and actions might negatively affect us or people that are significant in our lives. These unreasonable actions have therefore brought upon us negative consequences which are currently affecting our lives or might limit us in our future achievements, if care is not taken. You don’t have to write all your wrongs and find solutions to all the problems you’re facing. Rather, make other significant right decisions that can launch you into your desired colorful future.     How to deal with depression after a miscarriage

    Dealing with depression especially after a miscarriage is not an easy thing to do for most women. This becomes harder, especially when people around you do not understand how you feel. Therefore, they could provide little or no comfort to enhance your healing process. Miscarrying a pregnancy for most women is the same thing as losing a child. This is because you are already attached to the new life forming inside of you and you are already imaging how life will be with your baby. Some women even give a name to their unborn baby immediately she is officially confirmed to be pregnant by their gynecologists. However, losing such a pregnancy that you feel has become your source of joy is one of the most pathetic experience a woman could ever have.

    As a first-time mom to-be, after getting married to my husband, the next thing I wanted was to have a baby with my husband. I was trying to conceive naturally for a couple of months. Meanwhile, I made lots of research online on how to know when I am pregnant, even, before i am medically confirmed pregnant by the doctor. I also tracked my ovulation all along so I knew my most fertile days and I made sure to have sex with my husband on such days. So I was very hopeful that something good will come up soon. The thought of having a miscarriage never came up non my list.

    Then at the third month of trying, after my ovulation period. I noticed some severe changes in my body which were more pronounced than my PMS signs and are related to pregnancy signs. My heart was filled with joy, that I could be carrying a fertilized egg in my Fallopian tubes then I started tracking my implantation period. There was so much excitement, and you know those kinds of excitement that you feel when you are so expectant that you will have a positive pregnancy result.

    Fast forward to the date for my next menstrual period. Just like what every mom to-be will do, I prayed; ‘oh my God please let the implantation be successful because I don’t want another Menstrual flow this month. I became so desperate for an official positive pregnancy test. Mind you, I already had a negative home pregnancy test at 6DPO which I thought was as a result of testing too early.

    Then comes this light menstrual cramps on the supposed first day of my menstrual period with no flow till the end of the day. I was overjoyed that I made it but had to wait a few days before testing again. Then on the second day, it all started late in the evening period and here comes this serious and painful menstrual cramps that make me feel as if my uterus wall was tearing up and falling all by itself. I cried all night as my cervix dilate and contrast with lots of blood and tissues being passed out through my vagina. Can I call this a failed implantation or a miscarriage?

    Failed hopes, shattered expectation, no baby, what could have happened? Finally, I realized I just had what was medically called a chemical pregnancy or what some referred to as a blighted ovum. This is what happens when there is a deformation in the genetic formation of the fertilized egg as a result of a poor quality ovum or sperm. Then the fertilized egg fails to implant once the body recognizes this deformity. The body then expels the deformed fertilized egg as a menstrual flow even before the expectant mother knows that she is pregnant. Nevertheless, is still believed it was a miscarriage as I had all hope that i was carrying a fertilized ovum.

    Despite the disappointment and failed hopes, I decided to try again the following month and then the same thing came happening all over again. However, I have not loosed hope to get pregnant and I have decided to keep on trying until I have my baby. I have been praying too and trusting God, exercising my faith and keeping the word of God alive in my heart. Having a miscarriage was never on my list, so it really got me depressed when I felt I had loose what was supposed to be my baby.

Am going to briefly share with you some of the things I did that kept me going despite all my struggles while trying to conceive and how I had cope with depression after two miscarriages.

    1. It is ok to cry if you feel like crying

    Crying allows you to release those inner struggles and the negative vibes inside of you. So don’t feel too bad if you feel like crying. It’s ok for you to grieve for your child not making it alive. However, don’t blame yourself. Because, it’s not your fault, especially, when you don’t have the power to control the cause of the miscarriage.

    2. Seek medical assistance

    If you think that you need to seek medical assistance, then you should. Especially in severe cases, when your pregnancy is in the second or third trimester, don’t hesitate to visit the Doctor. Having a miscarriage at the second or third trimester is very dangerous to your health and also lead to depression. Depression will have more negative effect on you while trying to conceive, so seek medical attention. Make sure that you receive all the necessary medical care. Have your fertility tests, and treatments and adhere to all medical prescriptions from your gynecologist.

    3. Maintain a healthy living

    You don’t have to bury your head in depression all day long. Maintaining a healthy life will increase your chances of conceiving again. You will also be able to stay sexually active. Make sure you have a regular balanced diet, have regular simple exercise exercises, sleep well and maintain healthy social behavior. Having a miscarriage is not an end to your hope of giving birth to a child. It just show that you are fertile and capable of reproducing yourself.

    4. Discuss exactly how you feel with your partner

    Don’t assume that your partner should know how you feel. Instead, talk it over with him when you are more emotionally stable. Let him know how much you will appreciate it, if you could receive some comfort from him. And make sure you find love, comfort, and encouragement from your partner or a loved one. Holding-in your sadness will increase depression.

    5. Have regular sex with your partner.

    Make sure that you have regular sex with your partner at least every other day. Having enough sperm in your body will help to increase your chance of conception, during ovulation. Don’t forget to track your ovulation and make sure to have sex on such days. Sex is never too much especially when you are trying for a baby. However, having regular sex with your partner can also provide healing from all feelings of depression because you will receive more love during this time.

    6. Eat more fruits and veggie. Take vitamins and folic acid

    Taking fruits like apple and pineapple can increase your chance of fertility. Research has proven that pineapple contain the enzyme called bromelain which can help the fertilized egg to implant firmly into the uterine wall. The Vitamin C contained in pineapple as well as other fruits and veggie will help to boost your immune system for increased rate of fertility and prevents miscarriage.

    7. Seek comfort from God’s word

    The most secure place to find hope and comfort is from God’s word. Believe every word of God that you have read, knowing fully well that God has the best plan for you. Study your bible regularly and make sure that you confess God’s word as it applies to your situation. The Lord has promised you fruitfulness, you shall not be barren neither shall you cast your young(miscarriage).

    8. Pray

    Prayer has a way of relieving our griefs when will let God know how much we are going through. When you pray, God’s love and light will radiate all over your heart, thereby, producing a supernatural joy from within. The joy will be beyond the sorrow that you might have experienced. Prayer is one of the effective medicine to heal from depression.

    9. Pursue fulfilment in other areas of your life

    You don’t have to bury yourself in depression forever. Engage yourself in productive activities that excite and make you feel fulfilled. Joyfully await the arrival of your bundle of joy (I mean your baby). Nevertheless, be more productive in your job or business. If you have a job that gives you more free time, you can start a blog and start writing. Writing has a way of helping your pour out your thoughts and sharing your ideas with your online friends. You can blog about everything that you love.

    10. Stay hopeful

    Friends are people who are an important part of our lives. This is because they can easily influenced us either positively or negatively. And you know, the kind of friends you choose to have is a clear picture of who you are and what your character, attitude, and philosophy of life are.

    However, to have the best experience of life in the company of your friends, you must choose your friends carefully. You must be able to recognize what your personality is and how you can be of positive effect in the life of the other person.

    Every friendship relationship you enter into must be with a purpose. There must be a mutual focus, vison to keep you on track and feedback from both sides. This means that a one-sided friendship relationship is simply one that might tend to sniff life out of your neck. It can also be referred to as a parasitic relationship and the next thing you should do if you find yourself in such a relationship is how to break up from a parasitic relationship.

    Ok now. There are three kinds of friends that you can have in your life. I will discuss the first two briefly now and the third category of friends is our main focus in this article. The first category is ‘casual friends’ or ‘acquaintances’ while the second category of friends is ‘intimate friends’.

    Casual friends or acquaintances are people whom you recognize by face or even by name but you have limited or no information about them and vice-versa. They are people you seldom or often have physical contact with but with no personal relationship. These are people you meet at work, in the classroom, in college, in church, in the neighborhoods and even as you go on in the journey of life.

    However, as situations and circumstances arise which brings you in frequent close contact with a casual friend. There is a possibility that a casual friend can become a close or intimate friend. People who are your intimate or close friends can be people whom you relate more closely with. They are selected from your casual friends and they can be 40% of your casual friends. There is a common ground that brings you together regularly. This could be a group project, teamwork, church unit or department, club, family, etc. When you recognize that you have personalities in common with such a person and then there is an attraction to one another.

    However, there is a tendency that an intimate friend becomes causal because of the lost in the common interest. This may happen when the common ground that has brought you together is dissolved, a change in focus, vision or personality by one or both parties.

    Nevertheless, the third category of friends is the kind of people that I have called your ‘inner circle friends’. Sometimes, they are also chosen from your intimate friends and sometimes you can meet them in the journey of your life.

    Friends in your inner circle are people that you have a long term common interest focus vision pursuit and philosophy of life with. You have built a long term mutual trust, welfare, respect, understanding passion, and a common life pursuit together. They are people whom you trust that they will always watch your back any day and time. Moreover, you are always ready to help each other and life will be the sweetest with them. This category of friends are rare to find and this makes them very few in number. You will need inner circle friends in business, career, ministry, family, etc. You might have one or two of them in your life and at most three. I have recommended at most three members for your inner circle friends, because, you don’t need too much of them.

    Your inner circle friends are people who are close to you and in such a way that you have developed a personal and intimate relationship with them. You share closely related vision, passion, aims and objectives, life goals, and life philosophy, life principles, and attitude, character, faith and belief systems. Your inner circle friends have detailed information about some specific areas of your life. They are people who know your strength and weakness. You can trust them, however, for comfort, encouragement, support, and sometimes correction when you act contrary. Every member in the inner circle friend can always trust each other for support and care.
