Are you wondering why you are constantly unhappy? The reason is not far-fetched. Let’s take a look at it together.
- You are too anxious.
One of the major reasons for being unhappy is anxiety. We are always anxious for the things we do not have. Many times, these things are not our needs, rather, they are things we just desire. The absence of, or inability to get, the desired materials can cause heavy sighs and sleepless nights.
Solution: Prioritize your needs and trust God to supply your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus our Lord. - You are ungrateful.
An ungrateful man sees no value in whatever he has and thus shows no act of gratitude for it. Focusing your attention on what you do not have will cause you to be ungrateful for the things you already have. This is one reason why you’ve been unhappy. - You trust too much in your own effort.
This may sound strange, but yes, you trust so much in your own effort. I do not overrule the place of self-confidence, but placing absolute trust in your human capacity without including the God factor can be detrimental. Your effort and ability as a human will only achieve a little result, but putting your trust in God for supernatural help will cause an unprecedented turnaround. - The Lord is not your God. Maybe your money is.
Find out who is the master over your life. The Lord of your life is the giver of your joy and happiness. The world looks for happiness through self-assertion; the Christian knows that joy is found in self-abandonment.
“If a man will let himself be lost for My sake,” Jesus said, “he will find his true self.” —Elisabeth Elliot - You are not rejoicing in the Lord.
You do not need joy and happiness stirred up in you by any circumstance or material. You have the power to rejoice in the Lord. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice. For the joy of the Lord is your strength.
