How The Living Emerald Began
The Living Emerald did not begin with the idea of having all the answers.
It began with questions.
Questions about faith and everyday life. About marriage and family. About raising children while still growing ourselves. About womanhood and manhood. About work, purpose, relationships, health, money, disappointment, joy and the many decisions that fill ordinary life.
Over time, we realised that many of the things we were thinking about were not unique to us.
Other people were asking similar questions.
How do you keep faith when life does not go according to plan?
How do you build a healthy marriage while both people are still growing?
How do you raise children without losing yourself?
How do you navigate family relationships and expectations?
How do you remain grounded while dealing with work, responsibilities, pressure and change?
And perhaps most importantly:
How do we live what we believe in the reality of everyday life?
That question became the heart of The Living Emerald.
More Than a Faith Blog
We love Scripture, but we also know that life does not always fit neatly into inspirational quotes.
Sometimes faith looks like confidence.
Sometimes it looks like waiting.
Sometimes it means asking difficult questions.
Sometimes it means admitting that you do not understand what God is doing and continuing to walk with Him anyway.
That is why The Living Emerald is not simply about talking about faith.
It is about faith in real life.
It is about what happens when biblical principles meet marriage, parenting, work, relationships, family, personal struggles and everyday decisions.
Growing Together
The Living Emerald is also a family story.
It is shaped by the different perspectives that exist within a family—the perspective of a woman, a wife, a mother, a man, a husband, a father, and the experiences of people simply trying to become better human beings.
We do not expect everyone to have the same experience.
We do not believe one person’s journey can speak for everyone.
Instead, we share what we are learning, what we have experienced, what we are still questioning, and what we believe may help someone else think more deeply about their own life.
Some lessons come from victories.
Others come from mistakes.
Some come from seasons we would gladly repeat.
Others come from seasons we would never choose again.
All of them can teach us something.
Why “The Living Emerald”?
An emerald is precious, but it is also formed over time.
That idea speaks to what we believe about people.
Growth is rarely instant.
Marriage grows.

We grow.
And sometimes, growth happens quietly—in ordinary days, difficult conversations, small decisions and moments that nobody else sees.
