Are you wondering why you are not happy? You are not the only one in this kind of situation. So, don’t lose faith, God’s will for your life is that you should be happy always.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” Philippians 4:4
The Joy of the Lord is constantly available unto you but there are thieves all around, who want to steal your Joy. The Chief thief is the devil. Are you wondering how?
Here are 5 ways the devil steals your joy and makes you not happy.
1. You are too anxious
One of the major reasons for being not happy is anxiety. When you are always anxious about the things you do not have, you open the door for the devil to steal your joy, making you not happy. Many times
these things are not your needs, rather, they are things you just desire. The absence of or inability to get the desired materials can cause depression, heavy signs, and sleepless nights.
The way out is to prioritize your needs and trust God to supply your needs according to His riches in glory, through Christ Jesus our Lord.
2. You are Ungrateful
An ungrateful man sees no value in whatever he has and thus shows no act of gratitude for them. Focusing your attention on things that you do not have will cause you to be ungrateful for the things you have at hand. This is the reason why you’ve been unhappy. To live a happy life, you must cultivate an attitude of gratitude.
3. You trust so much in your effort
This may sound weird but yes, you trust so much in your effort. I do not overrule the place of self-confidence. But placing absolute trust in your human capacity without including the God factor can be detrimental. Your efforts and abilities as a human will only achieve a little result, but putting your trust in God for supernatural help will cause an unprecedented turnover. Happy are all who put their trust in the Lord. “Happy are those who trust in the Lord, who rely on the Lord“Jeremiah 17:7 KJV
4. The Lord is not your God. Maybe your money is.
Find out who is the master of your life. The Lord of your life is your giver of joy and happiness.
“Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD” Psl 144:15 KJV
“The world looks for happiness through self-assertion. The Christian knows that joy is found in self-abandonment. “If a man will let himself be lost for My sake,” Jesus said, “he will find his true self.”
–Elisabeth Elliot
5. You are not rejoicing in the Lord.
You do not need Joy and Happiness stirred up in you by any circumstance or material, you have the power to rejoice in the Lord. “A happy heart is a good medicine and a joyful mind causes healing, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.” Proverbs 17:22 Amplified
Ao, here is the command, “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 NLT
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 NIV
The Bottomline
God is the giver of Joy, even during your trying season you can still have Joy. Do not allow your situation to take away your Joy. You can still be happy. Remember that God loves you and His plans for you are the best. Even when you haven’t seen your desires coming into manifestation, you should rejoice in hope that He who has promised will bring it to pass.
“You have never seen Jesus, and you don’t see him now. But still, you love him and have faith in him, and no words can tell how glad and happy” 1Peter 1:8
